Extending Sales Tax

Frederick, Oklahoma is extending a sales tax to pay for changes to the city's wastewater lagoon.

The proposal passed Tuesday by a vote of 188-27.  The vote means a half cent sales tax, which would have expired in March, will be extended.

The city must start work next month on the project and finish by February 2015.

The changes are mandated by the Federal Government.  It will cost about $7-million.
