Cancer Prevention Study-3 Launches

The American Cancer Society launched their Cancer Prevention Study-3 enrollment to the Wichita Falls community.

They hope that 135 residents or more will join the once in a lifetime research opportunity to save future generations from cancer.

The CPS-3 is an American Cancer Society long-term research study that will help researchers better understand how genetics, lifestyle and environmental exposures work together to cause or prevent cancer.

Earlier Cancer Prevention Studies confirmed the link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer, demonstrated the link between larger waist size and increased death rates from cancer and other causes, and showed the considerable impact of air pollution on heart and lung conditions. The voluntary, long-term commitment by CPS-3 participants is what will produce benefits for decades to come.

Those interested in joining this long-term study are asked to schedule an appointment at their website or call 888-604-5888.
