Furlough Delayed

State finance officials said plans to furlough nearly 400 state workers whose salaries are funded with the federal dollars have been delayed.

The Department of Rehabilitation Services had planned to furlough just over 270 workers this week and almost 120 employees at the Oklahoma Military Department were scheduled to stop working Friday.

One D.A.R.S spokesperson said the workers in the agency's social security disability determination division will continue working.  However, they will not be paid after October 17th until the federal budget crisis is resolved.
