Punishment Handed Down

A man received his punishment after entering his guilty plea in court on Friday.

Dmitri Zanthony Williams was sentenced to eight years in prison on two counts of Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon.  Wichita Falls Police said the shooting in July happened on Thelma Drive.  Officers then responded to a call for a man flashing a weapon near the North Texas State Hospital.  When police got there the 28-year-old was gone.

Police interviewed witnesses who we not hurt and were able to get the description of his vehicle.  Minutes later, the vehicle and Williams were spotted on Grant Street.

New charges were added in connection to a separate incident on Fegnolio Avenue.

Williams was in the 78th District Court for his pre-trial conference.
