Veterans Stand Down - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Veterans Stand Down

Veterans stand down, an event aimed at aiding veterans, begins at 7 a.m. this Saturday November 1st. All veterans are welcome to the event, and the best part is it's free. The event is helps veterans with any needs they might have including food, clothing, employment, legal aid, and much more.
Jody Pacheco told newschannel 6 bus transportation will be provided by the city of Wichita Falls to help any veterans that would need a lift in order to get to the event. Buses will be able to give vets a lift from Faith Mission and 4th street to bring them to the American Legion Post 202 where the event will take place.
It all begins at 7 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. with a free breakfast and lunch provided at no charge. During the day there will even be a chili cook-off where veterans will be able to vote for the "Best Chili."
