Truck Accident Causes Power Outages

Posted: Updated:

Two men who were trapped inside their truck because of downed party lines are now safe.

Wichita Falls Police Sgt. Danny Wiggins said the moving truck was driving out of the parking lot of the KIA dealership on Old Jacksboro Highway, snagged some power lines, and took a pole down. A crew from the electric company was called in to shut down power because of live power lines on top of the truck. Both men were able to leave the truck just after midnight when a portion of the power grid in the area was shutdown.

Oncor's website shows nearly all power was restored to the area around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
