Lake Levels Officially in the 30% Range

Lake levels are getting very close to putting Wichita Falls in Stage 4 drought restrictions.

They were measured Monday as:

  • Lake Arrowhead: 29.6%
  • Lake Kickapoo: 34.2%
  • Combined: 30.8%

The public works department tracks the combined total to determine when different levels of drought restrictions should be triggered.

Wichita Falls is currently in Stage 3 restrictions. As soon as the combined total drops below 30 percent, the city will automatically be entered into Stage 4.

Stage 4 is considered a "Drought Disaster."
