Better Business Bureau: Trick Or Treat

The Better Business Bureau wants to warn you about some scams that are common during this time of year.

Lottery/Check scams have been around for decades, but many still fall for the ruse.  So if you receive a check, proceed with caution because it is probably a trick.  Cyber fraud could be an online application, sale of merchandise or Social media ploy.  The FBI/CIA/IRS did not find a virus on your computer.  Don't be fooled.  Finally, Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security will not call you to verify anything.

To protect yourself, BBB recommends the following:
• Be on your toes.
• Don't believe what you see.
• Avoid sharing personal or financial information
