Dr Pepper Game of the Week: Week 9

For the second year in a row, Nocona and Jacksboro will decide the District 5-2A Div. II championship, and for the second year in a row, that game will be the Dr Pepper Game of the Week!

Last season, Nocona defeated Jacksboro at home, 34-14 to clinch the title.

This time, Jacksboro will have the home-field advantage.

Nocona was expected to suffer this season after losing 16 letterwinners to graduation and only returning three starters, but the Indians have been strong, unbeaten in their first four district games.

Jacksboro was the clear pre-season favorite in the district, but after an 0-2 start and being outscored 74-6 in those games, they've bounced back to win their past six games by an average score of 37-13.

Check back all week to hear from both teams about the matchups, and tune in Friday night at 10:30 for extended highlights on the Friday Night High School Football Update!
