Byers Structure Fire Injures One Woman

A structure fire broke out on Saturday around 2:00pm off Morris Road, just 5 miles north of Byers.

Petrolia, Byers, Charlie Thornberry, Dean and Jolly fire departments were called out to the scene.

Clay County officials say one woman was injured in the incident. The woman was inside the home when the flames ignited, but she only suffered minor burns. She was treated for her injuries at United Regional Hospital.

The residence along with two ATVs and a Jeep was burned in the fire. The damages come out to an estimated $200,000.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
