Structure Fire

A blaze sparked on Wednesday afternoon that totaled a car, but no one was hurt.

Fire officials said the fire started around 2:30p.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Speedway.  Firefighters said the flames lit in the garage, in or around the car.

The residents of the home were able to get out of the fire safely.  There is smoke and fire damage to the home and the vehicle was destroyed.  Firefighters said the estimated damage in $75,000.

    Plumber airlifted to Dallas hospital following a house fire in Wichita Falls Wichita Falls Fire Department firefighter said the plumber suffered burn injuries due to smoke inhalation and airlifted to Parkland Memorial. The identity of the plumber is still unknown. He was underneath of a home on the 1500 block of Speedway Avenue working on the waterline when the home caught fire. WFFD firefighters called the cause of the fire an accident.
