H.S. VOLLEYBALL: Trojanettes Fall to Round Top Carmine in 1A Final

The Windthorst Trojanettes dream season came to an end early Saturday morning in the 1A State championship game.

The match went back and forth the entire way. Windthorst trailed 12-10 in the first set before the Cubettes went on a 13-0 run to end the first, taking it 25-10, going up 1-0.

The 2nd set was much closer, and Windthorst even held the lead at 15-14 before another run by Round Top Carmine closed the door, taking the 2nd set, 25-20.

It looked like the Trojanettes were finally going to get on the board in the 3rd, they rallied early and held the lead at 17-9 before tournament MVP Megan Hohlt caught fire, sparking a rally of her own to tie the match at 21.

It was a fitting end on match point, as Hohlt slammed it home over the middle to seal the win for the Cubettes, 25-23 in the 3rd. Windthorst fell just short of their record setting 14th State championship.
