Stage 3 Drought Emergency
The City of Lakeside City is now under a Stage 3 Drought Emergency, effective Tuesday, February 19, 2013. During Stage 3, all restrictions from Stage 2 remain in effect in addition to the new restrictions.
Watering days will be Tuesday for odd numbered houses and Thursday for even numbered houses.
Automatic sprinkler systems may be used from 12 midnight to 5 AM on the designated watering day, hose end sprinkler systems, drip irrigation, and soaker hoses may be used from 8 PM to 12 midnight on the designated watering day. Hand watering can be done anytime but the hose MUST have an attachment with a shutoff nozzle. Pool water features such as fountains, waterfalls and slides are prohibited. Driveways, patios and sidewalks cannot be washed unless an immediate health or safety risk is present. No washing vehicles unless at a commercial car wash, dealership, or automotive shop or detail shop. Fundraising car washes are prohibited.
Water rate surcharges for residential and commercial water use are as follows:
Surcharges will remain in effect until the city council announces the end of the restrictions.
City officials encourage strict water conservation as our water supply is in a critical situation. Compliance during Stage 2 was good and we anticipate the same cooperation in Stage 3; however, failure to abide by the stricter regulations will result in citations and fines.
