Fingerprinting Law

Posted: Updated:

Fingerprinting has become part of the application process for day care jobs in Oklahoma.

A new law requires all new employees at day cares to be fingerprinted as part of background checks.  The law technically went into effect on November 1st, 2013, but the new handbooks and applications were just recently received from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

One mother and day care employee said this is just another way to ensure children are left in the best hands possible.

The new law will require all current day care employees and owners to get fingerprinted, but they will have until November 2016 to get that done.
