Homeless Shelter Overcrowding

Homeless Shelter Overcrowding
The winter weather has definitely made its presence known here in Texoma and homeless shelters are expecting to see an increase of patrons Thursday night.

Steve Sparks, Executive Director of Faith Mission says his crews and partners at Faith Refuge have been preparing all day in case its facilities see an increase of visitors.

"We're trying to make sure we had enough coats and blankets, coffee and hot chocolate for men, women, and children that will be staying with us," said Sparks.

Both Faith Mission and Refuge mission has 100 beds, but says it can accommodate more if need be.

"We also have been taking out some mats and cots out of storage, because we know  we will probably have a overflow crowd tonight."
The mission says if anyone needs transportation or knows someone that needs their service to call: 322-HOPE or 723-5663.
