The Humane Society of Wichita County held the Cash for Critters event on Saturday. 30 Volunteers walked up and down the intersection of Kemp and Midwestern Parkway in Wichita Falls from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., collecting money from drivers.
"We are out here collecting cash for critters so that we can continue to give shelter food and comfort to all the little homeless animals," said Humane Society volunteer Karen Hamlin.
This was the organization's first time holding the event.
Along with taking care of shelter animals, the money raised will also help pay for costs associated with keeping the shelter open.
