Play of the Year Nominees!

We're excited to announce five nominees for our Friday Night High School Football Update Plays of the Year!

We filmed more than 150 games this season, and we went through them to bring you five plays that we think are the best of the best from the entire season.

Here's a look at the five nominees, in no particular order:

1. "Into the Wind": Wichita Falls High School's Chance McWhorter drilled a 42-yard field goal into a stiff breeze in Saginaw, in overtime of the Region I-4A Div. II Area Championship against Everman. The kick, into a wind that had made even extra points difficult that day, gave the Coyotes a lead they wouldn't give up.

2. "Into Your Living Room": Notre Dame's C.J. Macha made a great, diving catch at the side of the end zone against Harrold, coming right at the camera and somehow getting not just one, but both feet inbounds, without taking the photographer's knees out!

3. "Back of the End Zone": Graham's Ben Davis executed a perfect play-fake, then delivered a dart to the back of the end zone. Bryce Reeves leaped in to the air to make the catch, then got a foot down inbounds for a touchdown in the Steers' Region I-3A Div. II Championship win over Shallowater.

4. "Pump Fake": Vernon's David Garza pump-faked two Graham defenders off of the ground, then broke three tackles on his way to a 32-yard touchdown run that brought the Lions within 14-13 late in the first half of a pivotal District 5-3A game against Graham.

5. "Get Off Me!": Crowell's Mitchell Parsley ran to his right, then unleashed a bomb to his left that found Lex Bond, who made the catch, then shrugged off a sure-looking tackle for a touchdown in Crowell's Area Championship win over #2 Water Valley, that sparked a state title run for the Wildcats!

You can vote in the poll on this page, or right on the Friday Night High School Update page here at Newschannel6Now.com, voting will close at Midnight on Monday night, December 30th.

We'll announce the winner on New Year's Eve!
