Posted: Updated:
Two people are behind bars after leading authorities on a high speed chase.

Michael Raymond Lopez and Blake Garza are being held at the Wichita County Jail.

Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said authorities tried to pull over a driver on Rosewood Avenue because they driver didn't have their headlights on.  The driver ended up speeding off.  This happened just after 11:45p.m. on Tuesday night. Wichita County Sheriff Deputies began pursuit of the vehicle on Lower Charlie Rd., reaching speeds up to 90 miles per hour. Authorities eventually used spike strips to successfully blow out all four tires of the vehicle. When the driver refused to stop, Sheriff Duke gave the order to ram the car off the road before it reached the city. The car was taken off the road on Jefferson Street Wednesday morning.

Sheriff Duke said the chase lasted around 15 minutes, and spanned around 8-10 miles. Wichita County Sheriff's, D.P.S., and Wichita Falls Police were all involved in the chase. One person was tazed at the scene for not cooperating. One person in the vehicle had a warrant out for their arrest, and after searching the vehicle, a scale typically used for narcotics was found. There were no reports of drug in the vehicle at this time.

27-year-old Garza is charged with Evading Arrest Detention With Vehicle and is being held on a $1,000 bond.  20-year-old Lopez is charged with Theft Over $500 Under $1,500 and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
