W.F.P.D. Bears on Patrol Program

Posted: Updated:
When there are traumatic events, such as a fire, a murder, or other serious crimes we know how it can affect adults.  However, it also has a major impact on children.

That’s why the Wichita Falls Police Department often carries an extra passenger in their patrol cars.  Officers will now travel with stuffed teddy bears.  It’s something they can give to a child at the scene of a crime or disaster.  It helps to provide the child with something to take their minds off what they might be witnessing.

The “Bears on Patrol” Program is made possible by a $2,500 dollar grant from the Junior League.
