Diesel Truck Accident

A driver crashed his diesel truck 2 miles south of Farm Road 2224 around 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. He was northbound on Highway 79.

The driver lost control of his truck when his right front tire blew out. The driver slid his truck down an embankment, through an iron fence, between two telephone poles, and came to a sudden stop in a field of mesquite trees.

The driver was transported to United Regional Hospital with a fractured ankle.

The accident slowed traffic only momentarily on Highway 79.

DPS and Archer City VFD was on the scene.
