Man Sent to Hospital after Diesel Truck Crash

A single vehicle crash on Highway 79 sent one man to the hospital Saturday morning.

The Department of Public Safety troopers said the man crashed his diesel truck around 10:00 a.m., 2 miles south of Farm Road 2224 as he was driving northbound on Highway 79.

The driver lost control of his truck when his right front tire blew out.

That caused his truck to slide down an embankment, through an iron fence, between two telephone poles and into a field of mesquite trees.

He was transported to United Regional Hospital with a fractured ankle.
