Arrest in Convenience Store Shooting

Lawton Police say a man has been arrested after admitting to shooting a convenience store clerk in the face Sunday morning.

Police arrested Jarrell Thomas early Monday morning after a tip led police to a home in the 2300 block of Williams.

Police said two suspects walked into the Stripes Store at Sheridan and Lincoln just before 2:a.m. on Sunday.  One suspect shot the clerk in the face and then went behind the counter and stole some items.

Both suspects, including Thomas, fled the scene.

The store clerk is expected to recover.

Thomas was living in that home where police executed a search warrant.  While executing a search warrant, police found more evidence linking him to the crime.  Thomas was brought in for questioning and that’s when he admitted to being involved in the crime.
