Jury Selection will Continue Another Day for the Benefield Trial - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Jury Selection will Continue Another Day for the Benefield Trial

The jury selection process for a man charged with an injury to a four month old causing death continued Tuesday, and also will on Wednesday. Brent Benefield was charged in April of last year.

Tuesday, prosecutors and the defense questioned potential jurors on things like domestic violence, shaken baby syndrome, expert opinions, witnesses credibility and other topics related to the case.

The 72- people in the jury pool were also told what it meant to be a juror. Potential jurors were told they would have to be impartial and fair if chosen to be a member of the jury.

All of the potential jurors have to be at Wichita County Courthouse again Wednesday morning to finish the jury selection process. Only 12 of the 72 people will be chosen to be a part of the jury.

Newschannel 6 will continue to cover this trial to bring you the latest on the proceedings.
