Waiting to Be Sentenced

The lawyer of Michael Anthony Ray said the state’s case against his client was too strong and evidence is too compelling to take the case to trial.

Last week ray entered a guilty plea in the Stephens County Courthouse.  He has been charged with First Degree Murder in the stabbing death of 14-year-old Alyssa Wiles back in June.

Ray now awaits sentencing on March 5th.  If he is convicted he will face life in prison either with or without parole.

There is also a juvenile involved in this case.  The 14-year-old is suspected to have served as a lookout for Ray on the night of the killing.
