Albertsons Sells Wichita Falls Store

Albertsons Sells Wichita Falls Store

A Wichita Falls grocery store closed it's doors Sunday night.

Alberstons closed it's doors and the building is now under new ownership. Lawrence Brothers bought the store and are busy getting ready for Friday morning's soft opening.  Doors of the new Cash Saver Cost Plus will open at 6:00a.m. at the Southwest Parkway location.

An Alberstons spokesperson said they were required to sell the Wichita Falls store and a store in Amarillo after buying out United Supermarkets.  The FTC set the condition to keep the market competitive.

As for the employees, Lawrence Brothers President Jay Lawrence said each and every employee was offered a position within the company.

This will be the 22nd store for the company that was started in 1929.
