Oil Battery Explosion

Posted: Updated:
Three people in Cotton County are recovering Monday following an oil battery explosion that caused a grass fire.

Sunday’s explosion sent a ball of fire into the sky, which witnesses said they could see from miles away.  Multiple fire departments responded to the grass fire and were able to quickly get it under control.

One of the three people injured was air lifted to an Oklahoma City Hospital with burns covering his body, another was taken to a Lawton Hospital, and the other took himself to the hospital on Fort Sill.

There is no word on the extent of the damage from the explosion.
