Electra Manufacturing Plant Closing Their Doors

The biggest employer in the City of Electra will be closing their doors.

Electra’s Mayor Curtis Warner said the devastating news of Cameron Processing Systems Plant was dropped around 3:30p.m. when a letter was delivered.  Mayor Warner decided to read the letter on Tuesday night during a City Council Meeting.  He told us that the people had the right to know.

More than 120 people work at the company and is it one of the city’s largest employers and brings in a lot of revenue for the city.  They make oil field tanks among other items.

It’s the latest blow for the city that has had internal and external struggles and fired it’s Police Chief just a week ago.

There is no explanation at this time as to why the plant is closing.
