Who Shouldn’t Get Vaccinated

Posted: Updated:
According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, the influenza vaccine is not approved for children younger than six months old.

Also, people who have had a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine shouldn't be vaccinated.

The CDC said there are some people who should not get a flu vaccine without first consulting a physician.  These include:
  • People who have a moderate to severe illness with or without a fever.
  • People with a history of Guilain-Barre Syndrome (a severe paralytic illness, also called GBS) that occurred after getting the vaccine and who are not at risk for severe illness from influenza shouldn't get the vaccine.
