Volunteer Tax Assistance Site Open

The United Way’s Free Volunteer Tax Assistance site opened on Friday.

Mayor Glen Barham and the United Way officials cut the money ribbon on Friday morning.  The opening of the free tax preparation site coincides with Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day.  The public is encourages to ask if they qualify in order to take full advantage of the earned income tax credit.

Appointments begin on Saturday at 9:00a.m. at the Sikes Senter Mall.

Gregory Shannon, CEO of the North Texas United Way said, “This year, to set an appointment to get your tax return done, just call 211.”

The United Way will also have Vita locations in Burkburnett, Henrietta, and Iowa Park.
