Young County Burn Ban - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Young County Burn Ban

Young County Commissioners have issued a burn ban.

Outdoor trash burning of trash or brush and open camp fires are banned as of Monday, January 27th, 2014.  This will be in effect for 90 days unless the restrictions are terminated earlier.

The order doesn’t prohibit outdoor cooking in enclosed pits, outdoor burning activities related to public health and safety, planting or harvesting of agricultural crops or burns that are conducted by a prescribed burn manager.

If you are caught violating the burn ban, you could face a Class C Misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
