Rider Star Commits to MSU

Rider High School football standout Davon Allison will continue his playing career at Midwestern State University, he announced Sunday night.

Allison, a two-time winner of Newschannel 6's Texas Ford Player of the Week award, holds the Rider records for single-game receiving yards (266 vs Abilene Cooper in 2013), single regular-season receiving yards (1,366 in 2013) and single regular-season touchdowns (14 in 2013).

He joins a Mustang receiving corps that struggled in 2013, but also includes former Texoma high school standouts Blaine Curren (Burkburnett) and Gary Farquhar (Throckmorton) and Allison's former Rider teammate, Brandon Williams.

National Signing Day is Wednesday, February 5th. That is the first day Allison and other football commits around the nation can officially sign with their schools.
