Posted: Updated:

An 18-year-old is facing five years of probation after pleading guilty in the accidental shooting death of a Texoma football player.

Michael Bryce Underwood was sentenced during a court hearing in Montague yesterday after pleading guilty to "Criminally Negligent Homicide."

Officials said that Underwood, 18-year-old Nathan Maki and two 18-year-old women, were on a
Labor Day weekend campout last year when Maki was accidentally shot.

In a statement, Maki's mother said she forgives Underwood for the shooting.
