Bowie's Weber Signs with Howard College

Bowie High School's Karly Weber signed to play softball at Howard College Thursday morning in the BHS library.

The District 8-2A MVP led the Lady Rabbits to the district championship last season.

She and her Lady Rabbit teammates are ready to defend that title this season, which begins a week from Monday.

She told Newschannel 6 she's excited to move on to the next level, saying she loved the small-town feel of the campus in Big Spring.

"I fell in love with the campus," Weber said. "It's small, and Bowie's small so it makes me feel like I feel at home."

She said Howard was one of the first schools to show interest in her during her recruiting process, and that she is excited to continue her dream of playing softball at the next level.

The Hawks' new assistant coach this season is former Midwestern State graduate assistant Kaycee Taylor.
