Teen Due in Court

Posted: Updated:
A North Texas teenager sentenced to probation for a deadly drunken driving crash, is expected in court on Wednesday.

Ethan Couch was given 10 years’ probation for the wreck that killed four people and left two others severely injured.  Couch was 16 at the time.

The sentence has stirred fierce debate and has a different expert who said Couch’s wealthy parents coddled him into a sense of irresponsibility.  The expert termed the condition “Affluenza.”

The judge issued the original sentence, but has not ruled a persecution request to give Couch jail time on charges related to the two people who were injured.  The judge also hasn’t decided whether to send Couch to a pricey California rehab facility, which his attorneys requested.

His hearing is scheduled to begin at 3:30p.m.
