Wildcats Bolster Offense with Trade

The Wichita Falls Wildcats have acquired forward Todd Koritzinsky from the Lone Star Brahmas it was announced Thursday. In exchange, the Wildcats will send forward Hogan Davidson to the Brahmas.

“It’s always difficult to make moves this time of year,” Wildcats Head Coach Paul Baxter said. “This team has been together basically since the start of the season, we’ve made very few changes. But we want to make a push and thought, at this point, Todd would give us a little bit more offense.”

Koritzinsky recorded four goals and eight assists in 38 games played for Lone Star prior to the trade. He is currently in his second season in the North American Hockey League, having dressed in 20 games for the Janesville Jets during the 2012-13 season. Koritzinsky averaged a point-per-game for Janesville, totaling seven goals and 13 assists during his time with the Jets.

“[Koritzinsky] is a fast and skilled forward who plays with quite a bit of grit,” Baxter continued. “We’re excited to see what Todd can bring to our roster as we make a push for the playoffs.”

A native of Verona, Wis., Koritzinsky previously played parts of two seasons with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. In 61 games played for the Phantoms during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaign, he recorded 14 points on six goals and eight assists.

The Wildcats return to the ice on Friday, Feb. 14 when they host the Topeka Roadrunners for the first contest of a two-game weekend set. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with video coverage provided by FASTHockey.com and an audio-only broadcast available on UStream.com.
