Jacksboro Natural Gas Outage Latest

As of Saturday, some residents in Jacksboro are in their third day without natural gas and heat. Crews from Texas Gas Service worked all day Saturday purging the gas lines.

Around 4 p.m., the low pressure system that supplies natural gas to most residential areas was being tested.

Service has been restored to about 400 customers out of the 1,200 affected. Crews will be working until 11:30 p.m. Saturday and will return Sunday morning to finish up their work.

The natural gas supply is expected to be restored to all customers by late afternoon Sunday.

Condensation that entered through the main city valve caused a contamination of the main gas line. That led to the interruption of service on Thursday.
