MILTON KEYNES, England, February 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

People counting and footfall solutions specialist, Ipsos Retail Performance, has opened an office in Toronto, Canada, with the aim of servicing retailers in North America.

Having pioneered the principal technology for footfall counting since 1989 in the UK, Ipsos Retail Performance continues to be at the forefront of retail consultancy and is expanding internationally.  The company monitors more than 1.2 billion visits a year in 8,000 stores worldwide, and provides customer experience consultancy and retail insights to a growing number of retailers.

Ipsos Retail Performance is already working with a number of premium retailers across USA and Canada, including a large communications company and fashion brands, and it is clear there are many more retailers that will benefit from people counting and footfall solutions in the region.

Peter Luff, President of Ipsos Retail Performance, said: "This is an important strategic step for the company as we begin to serve even more retailers around the world.  Our North American footprint has grown significantly in the past 12 months and we believe this is down to our innovative approach and the accuracy of our data which helps retailers to optimize their sales conversion rates.

"Unlike other footfall providers who mainly sell counting equipment to retailers, our approach is consultative, analytical and focuses on helping retailers to understand their business so that they can make improvements across the lifetime of the project.  This methodology resonates well with retailers who expect a positive return from their investment in footfall counting and analysis, and far more than just simple data reporting."

Through a range of solutions, Ipsos Retail Performance helps retailers to measure and monitor the entire customer experience from the moment they start browsing shop windows, to how they enter shops, to where they walk, what they look at, how they interact with staff and ultimately if they buy.
