Lakeside City Death Ruled Accidental

Posted: Updated:
Authorities in Archer County have determined that the death of a Lakeside City employee was accidental.

Paul Morath was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a maintenance building on Bowman Road back in early January. Investigators say his death was due to a gun that was not functioning in accordance with the manufacturer's design. They say its not clear if the gun was intentionally modified or broken, but they have determined the weapon was unsafe and had a role in Morath's death.

55-year-old Morath was a Wichita Falls resident and an employee in the Lakeside City Maintenance Department.
