Deadline Set For WFISD Decision

Time is running out for the Wichita Falls Independent School Board.  Deadline now set for decision to be made on area high schools.

On Monday night, for the fourth time the WFISD School Board talked about some proposed changes in the school district that will affect the district's three high schools.

WFISD superintendent Dr. John Frossard set a deadline for the board to make a decision. The deadline is next Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Dr.  Frossard said a decision needs to be made soon in order for the bond proposal of their choice to be on the upcoming election ballot in May.
In order to meet that deadline Kevin Goldstein, board president scheduled special sessions for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week all at noon.

The board could come to a decision as soon as Tuesday. It's goal to choose an option that's best fit for students and tax payer dollars.
At the last school board meeting, the board was leaning towards a system with two comprehensive high schools and an early college option. However, no decision at this time is set in stone.
Newschannel 6 will continue to follow this story until the school board makes a decision.
