Driver Released From Hospital

Posted: Updated:
The man sent to the hospital after an early morning accident on Thursday has been released from the hospital.

Wichita County Sheriff Deputies, Wichita Falls Police, and Wichita Falls Firefighters all responded to the accident around 1:00a.m.  Authorities on scene told Newschannel 6 they believe the driver of a Dodge Ram pick-up fell asleep behind the wheel.  The 57-year-old was headed north on Highway 287.  Police said he clipped a semi-truck, drove over the median onto the southbound lane, and hit another truck.

Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to pull him out of his vehicle.  He was then taken to United Regional with non-life threatening injuries.
