The 5th annual Lone Star Nationals kicked off at the J.S. Bridwell Ag Center on Saturday.

It is one of the biggest kart races in the country and started at 3 p.m. and lasted until 9:30 p.m. It's also the round 3 of 4 in the Midwest Winter Race Series enjoyed by all ages.

"We've got go-kart racers from 4 years of age to 60 years of age. There are 18 different classes and a lot of good, fast, fast racing," said Lone Star Kart Nationals promoter Todd Krncirick.

Admission was $5 for adults and $2 for kids 12 and under.
