Man Arrested in High Speed Chase

One man spent Tuesday night behind bars after leading authorities on a high speed chase through two Texoma counties.

Officers say 28-year-old Charles Eric Bartee was driving a vehicle in the area of 9th Street and Baylor in Wichita Falls.

When officers tried to pull him over, police say Bartee began throwing what was suspected to be narcotics out of the vehicle, and refused to stop.

The chase ended in Clay County on Highway 79 near Dean. A tire on Bartee's vehicle blew out. That flat tire brought the chase to an end.

Bartee was taken into custody, without incident. He is now charged with Evading Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, and Driving While Intoxicated.

Police say more charges may be added.
