Cause of Iowa Park House Fire Determined

Officials have ruled the house fire in Iowa Park on February 27th as accidental.  They also said the damage is estimated to be $300,000.

Newschannel 6 crews spoke with the owner of the home and she was able to get out safely with her dogs.  She explained she was asleep because of working night shifts.

Iowa Park Police received the call just after 3:00p.m.  Electra and Wichita Falls responded to help battle the blaze.  There were a total of five fire trucks on the scene.

Iowa Park Police Chief Randy Fulbright said they were able to gain control of the fire by approximately 4:30p.m.  However he explained there were several hot spots that needed to be maintained.  Fulbright said they had to take parts of the house down, like the siding, because those were the hot spots.  He explained there was fire in the siding that they needed to put out.

Firefighters were able to salvage some of the owners’ belongings.  One firefighter brought her some pictures and explained to her they would continue to try to find more of her belongings.
