Clay County Burn Ban Reinstated

The Commissioners’ Court of Clay County has reinstated a burn ban on Monday.

Outdoor burning is banned in the County for 30 days, unless the restrictions are terminated.

This Order does not prohibit outdoor burning activities related to public health and safety that are authorized by the Texas Natural Resources Commission for: 
  • Firefighter training
  • Public utility, natural gas pipeline or mining operations
  • Planting or harvesting of agricultural crops
  • Burns that are conducted by a prescribed burn manager
  • Welding is permitted if you have at least two people and at least 100 gallons of water with a sprayer
  • Outdoor cooking is permitted in an enclosed cooking container only
