Pinwheels For Patsy's House - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Pinwheels For Patsy's House

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Patsy's House is hoping to end child abuse one pinwheel at a time.

There will be a kick off event on April 1st, 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Patterson Honda. The event includes a bounce house, petting zoo, and face painting.

Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center will be placing over 1.508 pinwheels on the corner of Jacksboro Highway and Central Freeway.  Each pinwheel represents a report of child abuse in Wichita County. The goal is to symbolically end child abuse one pinwheel at a time before April ends. A $20.00 gift to Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center will remove a pinwheel.

A popular Nocona restaurant is serving up food once again after shutting down from fire damage. Bear's Den Diner caught fire two months ago after a trailer only feet away caught fire and heavy winds spread it to the restaurant. Bear Weller, the owner, said the only reason his kitchen is open is that of his customers.
