Allred on Lockdown

The Allred Unit on F.M. 369 is still on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after an incident on Tuesday.

At approximately 4:00p.m. on Tuesday an undetermined number of offenders at the Allred Unit assaulted a sergeant who was on-duty.  Additional Correctional Officers came to help the injured officer and to also end the conflict.

The sergeant was stabbed approximately 15 times in the front and the back.  He also suffered wounds on his forehead and on the back of his head.

The sergeant was taken to United Regional for treatment.

One of the officers that was assisting him and trying to end the assault was stabbed in the abdomen.  He was treated at the prison and didn’t need to be taken to a hospital.  One officer needed stitches on his finger.

The names or the sergeant, correctional officer, and offenders involved in the assault have not been released.  The investigation in still going on.
