Community Awareness, Adoption & Education Event

The Humane Society of Wichita County held their Community Awareness, Adoption and Education event Saturday morning.

The event kicked off at 11 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. It gave participants an opportunity to learn about the process of adopting an animal.

There were other local rescues that were a part of this event including Texas Pit Crew, Wichita Falls Reptile Rescue, Wild Bird Rescue and many more.

“We have great volunteer opportunities and great programs for this community. We always need volunteers and we like for them to come out and just find which group they’re interested in and hopefully be a big part of that,” said Cheryl Miller, Director of the Humane Society of Wichita County.

Participants got the chance to check out the animals at the shelter and even take a dog for a walk.
