Arrest in High Speed Chase

One man is behind bars after leading authorities on a high speed chase Tuesday night.

Cotton County Sheriff David Johnson and one of his deputies attempted to pull over Larry Garcia for traffic violations.  It happed just before 9:00p.m. and that’s when the chase started.  He was driving a black pickup truck along I-44 at high speeds.

Burkburnett police were called and so were Wichita County Sheriff’s Deputies and D.P.S.  Spike strips were used to stop the pickup truck at I-44 and Bacon Switch Road.

The 46-year-old was charged with evading arrest in Texas.  When he is taken back to Oklahoma he will be charged with Eluding a Police Officer and Driving Under Suspension.
