Concrete Poured for Disaster Helping Hands Building

Posted: Updated:
An organization that helps areas affected by natural disasters is getting a permanent center in Wichita Falls.
Disaster Helping Hands signed an agreement to build a center on Pecan Way Drive back in July of 2011. Thursday, crews poured the concrete for the center.
It means the organization is one step closer to having its own center.

"We are finally getting a chance to get our own office and storage building for our operation," said Found and Director Leon Green. "This will help us in fulfilling the need of taking care of families in Wichita Falls and the surrounding communities in time of disaster," said Green.
Disaster Helping Hands reaches out to areas all over the United States affected by natural disasters. The organization has helped with wild fires in Texoma, the tornado in Joplin and the fertilizer plant explosion in West.
