NCAA Expanding Meals For Athletes

The NCAA's Legislative Council approved a proposal to expand meal plans for college athletes.
The proposal would allow college athletes to get unlimited meals and snacks for scholarship athletes and walk ons.

Under the old system athletes were allowed to get 3 meals a day, or a food stipend.

We spoke to Noel Johnson Head Coach of the Woman's Midwestern State University basketball team about the new proposal and she thinks it is needed.

"Being a student athlete is also considered to be a job as well. the time and the nutrition that needs to go into that is definitely something that i think is definitely  something to be considered."

The proposal is set to be approved by the NCAA board on April 24th. If approved the proposal would take effect August 1st.
